Mark Angeli La Lune Anjou Chenin Blanc 2021

This declassified Anjou is crafted exclusively from 35-year-old Chenin vines, showcasing the La Lune's dynamic nature with varying levels of residual sugar from vintage to vintage— clearly indicated on the bottle. Aged in seasoned wood and bottled with volcanic sulfur, these wines embody a 100% natural approach. Beyond their exceptional quality, these wines are highly coveted for both their immediate appeal and remarkable ageability.

Mark Angeli acquired Ferme de la Sansonnière in 1990, comprising 7 hectares across Anjou, Coteaux-du-Layon, and Bonnezeaux appellations. While Coteaux-du-Layon and Bonnezeaux typically focus on sweet moëlleux or liquoreux wines, Angeli chose to break away from convention, producing dry white wines from Chenin Blanc and operating outside the appellation system. All wines now carry the "Vin de France" appellation, granting Angeli greater flexibility. His holistic farming practices have fostered robust vines, yielding perfectly ripened, healthy grapes fermented to a dry style, albeit with nuanced variations reflecting each vintage.
