Domaine Ostertag Sylvaner Vielles Vignes 2023

Domaine Ostertag’s Sylvaner Vieilles Vignes 2023 draws on a network of parcels across Epfig and Nothalten, planted on a mix of sandstone, clay, marl, granite and alluvial soils, with vine age averaging around half a century. Established by André Ostertag and now led by Arthur Ostertag, the estate has long worked biodynamically, with this cuvée hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel and held on fine lees for close to a year. The 2023 vintage presents Sylvaner with uncommon breadth and definition: yellow apple, preserved lemon, almond skin and a faint herbal edge, structured by firm acidity and a distinctly mineral finish shaped by its varied terroirs.
