Wine Scholar Guild (WSG) is an internationally-recognised qualification that focuses solely on the most influential wine regions of Europe, instilling a deep understanding of these wines, winemakers, and their culture.

WSG offers immersive, region-specific wine education, which sets the industry standard for up-to-date and in-depth information on their focus countries.The Spanish Wine Scholar program sets the industry standard as the most in-depth and comprehensive certification program devoted entirely to the rich and diverse wines of Spain.

Spanish Wine Essentials

This course will provide a solid foundation on the complex world of Spanish wine in an accessible and engaging way, highlighting need-to-know regions, grape varieties, and wine styles.

The course runs over 6 weeks from 6pm-8pm on Tuesday nights at Cardwell Cellars.

Spanish Wine Scholar

The most in-depth and comprehensive certification program devoted entirely to the rich and diverse wines of Spain, this course is designed specially for dedicated wine enthusiasts and industry professionals. The SWS provides the keys to understanding the many appellations, viticultural marvels, art of winemaking, historic landmarks and rich traditions that make Spanish wine a global benchmark.

The course runs over 6 weeks from 6pm-8pm on Wednesday nights at Cardwell Cellars, with two 6-hour intensives on Saturdays during the course.

Both courses are taught by Cardwell Cellars’ WSG-approved educators, featuring Beth Bicknell, beloved Melbourne wine personality and Spanish Wine Scholar.

Both courses require 6 students to commence. Make-up classes are not available if you miss a session.
