White WineWerkstatt Mount Gambier Riesling 2025
Bridget Mac has trained and worked as an artist before making the move to winemaking, and has spent several vintages working with some of the finest winemakers in Australia and France.
A very dry season in Mount Gambier in 2025, and despite a warmer vintage across the Eastern Coast, temperatures in Gambier were average and contributed to a slow, cool ripening. The Mount Gambier Riesling has become our award winning hallmark Kabinett style. Known for its lively acidity, balanced by a carefully managed level of residual sugar. This wine was slowly fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel, it spends 2 months on gross lees and 2 months on fine lees. No fining before bottling.
The nose is powerful and rich with apricot and grapefruit characters, these give way for nuanced slate, lemon curd and grass notes. As it opens up there are some light, white floral characters. The palate is light to medium bodied with chalky acidity and a lick of residual sugar to balance. At the heart of this wine expect nectarine and young ginger, with a hint of green apple shining through. The finish is long and elegant.
