Occhipinti FL Vino di Contrada Terre Siciliane IGT 2021

A unique 100% Frappato from Arianna Occhipinti, crafted from 15-year-old vines nestled in the Iblei mountains, Sicily.  Natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks, followed by a 22-month aging process, bottled unfined and unfiltered. Limited to 2700 bottles, it’s part of the Vino di Contrada series, emphasizing the diversity of Sicilian terroir.

The Fossa di Lupo showcases vibrant acidity and a lively palette of tart red currant, floral notes, white pepper, and citrus. Known for its austerity yet rich fruitiness, it exemplifies Occhipinti's innovative approach to single-varietal Frappato wines, moving away from traditional Sicilian blends to spotlight Frappato's standalone character.

Enhanced by saline, peppery notes with pomegranate and dried rose petals, each wine in the series offers a distinct expression, underlining Occhipinti's dedication to biodynamic practices and her mastery in pairing with Italian cuisine.
