Moorooduc
White WineMoorooduc Estate Chardonnay 2024
Fruit for the Moorooduc Estate Chardonnay is sourced from 3 vineyards in the northern Mornington Peninsula. Fruit was hand harvested and whole bunch pressed, undergoing spontaneous fermentation in French oak barrels, 10% new. Malolactic conversion occurred in 80% of the barrels, and the wine rested on lees for 18 months before light filtering, fining, and bottling.
With a soft lemon-yellow hue, this wine emanates scents of blossoming white petals, lemon flower, fresh white nectarine, and hints of grapefruit peel. The taste profile is subtle, characterized by citrusy notes of briny lemon, zesty orange, and juicy pink grapefruit. Its finish is enduring, marked by delightful hints of pale stone fruits. While vibrant and young, it promises potential for maturation. It's an ideal accompaniment for cherished shellfish dishes, perfect to relish in the present moment.
