Having temporarily departed his native Sicily, Giuseppe Russo immersed himself in the realms of piano and literature. Yet, with the passing of his father, Girolamo, in 2005, Giuseppe felt compelled to return. His mission: to craft the finest wines in this uniquely captivating and occasionally challenging locale. While the Russo family proudly calls Passopisciaro and its surroundings home, it has become a fascinating, dynamic hub, drawing winemakers worldwide. With 26 hectares under their stewardship, 15 devoted to vineyards and the remainder to olives and hazelnuts, the Russos' domain graces the north face of Mount Etna, Europe's largest active volcano, situated in the northeastern reaches of Sicily.

'A Rina' emerges from diverse contradas—San Lorenzo, Feudo, Calderara Sottana, Feudo di Mezzo—where vines, spanning two to a century in age, intertwine. A harmonious aging dance unfolds, orchestrated between oak and concrete, spanning approximately one year.
