Mac Forbes RS14 Riesling

A single barrel selected early in fermentation for its incredible fruit purity and an intriguing structure. While we usually leave the fruit from this younger site to ferment to dryness, we treated this barrel as part of our RS program, stopping the ferment when the wine felt and tasted balanced. The 14 grams of sugar works beautifully with the supple acid and talcy structure that we love from the Avenel site. Fresh lemon and lime zest with a touch of tea rose, a burst of freshness and compact structure. One to sit and ponder.
