Dormilona Chenin Blanc 2023

The Dormilona Chenin Blanc 2023 is a distinguished white wine from Margaret River, crafted by winemaker Josephine Perry. Sourced from the organically managed Yungarra vineyard in Yallingup, the grapes are hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed into a combination of Italian amphora, new French oak puncheons, and seasoned barrels. The wine undergoes natural fermentation, with battonage for three months, followed by racking to settle before bottling. 

This Chenin Blanc presents a bouquet of green apple, quince, and a touch of chamomile. The palate is medium-bodied, with a creamy texture and bright acidity that leads to a lingering, mineral finish. The use of amphora and oak imparts a unique textural element, enhancing the wine's complexity and depth. With minimal intervention in the winery, including no fining or filtration, the Dormilona Chenin Blanc 2023 exemplifies Perry's commitment to producing natural, expressive wines that showcase the unique character of Margaret River.
