Pernot Père & Fils
Red WinePernot Père & Fils Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2021
In 2018, Pascal Pernot took over the family estate and quickly gained recognition as a top Gevrey-Chambertin producer. Pascal's great-grandfather was once a chauffeur to the Liégard family of the Château de Brochon, and later inherited some vineyards, including La Croix Violette. The estate, established in 1900, is now in its fourth generation, with Pascal in charge of the 7-hectare property surrounding the village of Brochon.
The wine is a blend of Pinot Noir, half of which is aged in barrels and the other half in tanks. The grapes come partly from the Prielles vineyard, situated below Fixin, which adds tension, and partly from a clay plot below Brochon, providing flesh. The wine has a pale hue with a hint of purple. On the nose, it exudes elegance and promises a great drinking experience. The palate reveals attractive fruit, medium length, and a slight firmness, all in all, a joyous Pinot Noir.
