Henriques and Henriques' 10-Year-Old selection, made entirely from Boal grapes, follows the classic Canteiro method, aged in their specialized lodges in Câmara de Lobos. The Boal vineyards predominantly grace the southern part of the island (Campanário and Calheta), lying between altitudes of 100-300 meters. Boal, adorned with a rich tawny shade, stands as the deepest colored amongst the iconic Madeira varieties. Though it possesses a sweeter undertone, registering at 90.4 g/L, the wine maintains its vivaciousness, underscored by its crisp and clear acidity (6.0 g/l). Boal seamlessly complements both savory meat dishes and fruity, nut-infused desserts. Its inherent dried fruit and barley sugar notes enhance pairings with cheese, crème caramel, and the traditional Portuguese custard tarts.
