Meao

Red Wine

Meão Meandro Douro Tinto 2018

This wine is a blend of 30% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinto Roriz, 30% Touriga Franca, and 5% each of Tintas Barroca and Amarela. It's named after the location of Mẹo, situated within a meander of the Douro river.

The aromatics of this wine are reminiscent of coal briquettes, with red-black fruit pastilles layered in. These flavors are mirrored on the palate, where rich, luscious fruit flavors are balanced with a deep, earthy palate that glimmers with dark minerals and a touch of glyceric gloss. Compared to recent vintages, this wine has a lower mouthfeel and a stronger focus on terroir, with less emphasis on glyceric fruits.

If you're searching for a complex and earthy red wine with a unique flavor profile, this blend from Mẹo is definitely worth considering.
