Domaine des Ardoisières
White WineArdoisières Silice Blanc 2021
Plush and focused, the "Silice" wine is a blend of 100% Jacquere grape variety that boasts of an exquisite aroma of white floral and preserved lemon. It also has a rush of white peach, crushed stone, and salty sea spray minerals that makes the palate speak of its alpine origin.
The Domaine des Ardoisières is one of the estates that prove that Savoie is capable of producing wines with the same quality as Burgundy or Jura. Michel Grisard initiated the replanting of the Cevins hillside with six hectares of mica schists along terraces between Albertville and Moutiers in 1998, leading to the birth of the Domaine.
Brice Omont, an agricultural engineer from Champagne, invested in the project in 2003 to assist Grisard. Currently, he heads the Estate that now consists of 16 hectares. The vineyard practices biodynamic viticulture, and the slope can reach up to 70% incline, resulting in very low yields.
The wine pairs well with roast poultry, rich oysters, crayfish, scallops, and white fish. It can be drunk now with a 30-minute decant before serving or cellared until 2026+.
