Lust for Life Syrah 2021

In the South Adelaide Hills, Sam + Simon craft this Syrah by hand. 100% whole bunch fermentation in two distinct styles. One batch ferments for 14 days in an open-top old Hogshead barrel, while the other undergoes semi-carbonic fermentation, sealed for 14 days in stainless steel. This process, which includes wild fermentation without any added enzymes, and leaves the wine unfined and unfiltered, results in a Syrah that's both delightful and approachable.

It offers a harmonious blend of fruity notes like strawberries and cherries, along with a confectionary twist. Additionally, it possesses a savoury green element and an olive tapenade-like intensity, adding to its depth and complexity. With lush tannins and an acidic punch, the Syrah evolves in the glass, revealing layers of ripe black currants and black cherries.
