White WineDomaine Macle Côtes du Jura Blanc 2018
Domaine Jean Macle, situated in Château-Chalon in the Jura region, was established in 1850 by its namesake, Jean Macle. Currently, it's under the management of his son, Laurent Macle, who took over in 1995. The vineyard, spanning 12 hectares, is exclusively dedicated to white grape varieties, comprising 8 hectares of Chardonnay and 4 hectares of Savagnin. Since 2015, the vineyard has adopted certified organic farming practices.
Their Côtes du Jura wine is predominantly a blend of Chardonnay, supplemented with Savagnin. The grapes are harvested manually, followed by alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in vats. The wine is then aged for 36 months in 225-liter oak barrels.
