From the Spring Mountain District above St Helena, Philip Togni Vineyard farms Cabernet Sauvignon on steep, rocky slopes at elevation, where cooler conditions extend the growing season. The 2022 is led by Cabernet Sauvignon with small portions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, fermented in stainless steel and aged in French oak. It shows blackcurrant, cassis and dark plum with cedar, tobacco, graphite and dried herb. The tannins are firm and tightly structured, carrying a long, even line through the palate with a savoury, persistent finish. It remains compact and will require time to fully open, with a long development ahead.
