Dessert WineDisznókő Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos Kapi 2015
This is a single-vineyard Aszú from Kapi vineyard, one of Tokaj’s historic first growth sites, classified in the 18th century. Produced by Disznókő Tokaj, it is made from botrytised Furmint grown on volcanic soils, where extended autumn conditions allow for multiple passes to select fully developed Aszú berries.
The wine is made by macerating the Aszú berries into a base wine, followed by fermentation and extended ageing in oak in the traditional underground cellars of the region. At 6 puttonyos, it sits at the upper end of the traditional scale, with high extract balanced by acidity.
The 2015 shows dried apricot, orange peel and acacia honey, with saffron and a saline edge. The palate is concentrated but held in line, with firm acidity carrying through a long, composed finish.
