Red WineCavallotto Barolo Riserva Bricco Boschis Vigna San Giuseppe 2018
Within the Bricco Boschis estate in Castiglione Falletto, the San Giuseppe parcel has long been identified for its concentration and structure, released separately by Cavallotto only in vintages suited to extended ageing. The 2018 follows a cooler, more measured season, with fermentation on skins and maturation in large Slavonian oak over several years before release. The wine carries dark cherry, rose, orange peel and dried herb, with notes of tea leaf, liquorice and a faint balsamic lift. Tannins are firm and persistent, giving the wine shape and direction, with a mineral line that sustains the finish. It remains tightly composed and will require time to fully articulate, with a long development ahead.
