Cré Savagnin 2022

This is the first Savagnin release from the vineyard since new ownership began in 2021, made in the spirit of the layered, expressive whites of Jura. It appears under the ‘Cré’ label, which highlights the varied and distinctive terroirs of the Yarra Valley.

The fruit was handpicked and gently pressed into old oak barrels, where it underwent spontaneous fermentation. The wine was raised for 18 months with regular fortnightly topping, building texture and depth. Aromatically floral, it shows notes of apricot and green apple, with refreshing acidity and a savoury hint of manzanilla and sea spray.
