Vigneti Massa Montecitorio Timorasso 2021

Walter Massa is responsible for bringing Timorasso back from the brink of extinction. He's been cultivating indigenous grapes in the Apennine hills of Piemonte since the 1980s. This wine is single-vineyard Timorasso from an east-facing slope with marl and chalk soils in the village of Monleale. Grapes are picked at full ripeness, and undergo a 2-day cold maceration on skins. The wine spends 12 months in stainless steel, with lees contact and regular bâtonnage. Waxy and textural, rich nuts, spice, and dough are cut through with white florals and firm acidity. A detailed and powerful wine that can be savoured now or cellared for years to come.
