Sadie Family Wines Stellenbosch Mev. Kirsten 2024

From a small parcel of old Chenin Blanc vines in Stellenbosch, planted in 1905 on decomposed granite, Sadie Family Wines works with one of the Cape’s oldest surviving vineyards. The site is dry-farmed and yields are naturally low, with fruit fermented using indigenous yeasts and raised in old oak with extended time on lees. The 2024 carries yellow apple, quince and citrus with notes of hay, chamomile and a faint waxy edge. The palate is structured and tightly held, with a firm acid line and a persistent, mineral finish. It remains compact and will require time to fully open, with long development ahead.
