Sadie Family Wines Palladius 2023

Palladius 2023 is the white counterpart to Columella from The Sadie Family Wines, drawn from a network of old vineyards across the Swartland. The sites span granite, sandstone and shale, with dry-farmed bush vines contributing to the final blend.

The wine is built from a range of Mediterranean varieties, led by Chenin Blanc with components including Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne, Clairette, Viognier and others. Each parcel is harvested and vinified separately, with fermentation occurring naturally and élevage carried out in a mix of foudre, amphora and older oak.

The 2023 shows a restrained profile, with stone fruit, citrus peel and a lightly savoury edge. It sits in a mid-weight register, with texture from lees work and a firm line of acidity carrying through the finish.
