Navarre Vin d’Oeillades 2022

A delicate and savoury medium-bodied red from Oeillades Noir, a historic grape variety of the Languedoc revived by vigneron Thierry Navarre. On the nose; black plums, red berries, white pepper and earth. The palate is mineral and fresh, with fine, elegant tannins and only 11.5% alcohol. Grapes are partially destemmed, and undergo spontaneous fermentation before ageing in concrete tanks.

Thierry Navarre is a 3rd generation winemaker and one of the first producers of organic wines in the Languedoc, France's largest wine region by production. He continues his grandfather’s legacy of preserving the ancient varieties of Oeillade and Ribeyrenc. His vines are on slopes with south-west exposure and soils composed of loose brown schist, producing lighter and early-drinking wines.
