Mount Mary Quintet 2023

Mount Mary produces one of Australia's most iconic Bordeaux blends, from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot grown together in their vineyard in Lilydale, in the lower Yarra Valley. 

Quintet is classically medium bodied, with plenty of well-integrated fine-grained tannin, adding structure and depth without weight. Long and refreshing on the palate with blackcurrant, red cherry, and plum, dried herbs, graphite, tobacco, and violets. 

2023 was a cool and low-yielding vintage, but the grapes achieved perfect balance, leading to a wine that is focused and poised, and according to winemaker Sam Middleton, built to age for at least 5-10 years. Drink now after some time in a decanter, or cellar and watch it unfurl over the next 30 years.
