Luciano Sandrone Barolo Aleste 2020

From the Cannubi Boschis vineyard in Barolo, renamed Aleste by Luciano Sandrone in honour of the family’s grandchildren, this is one of the estate’s most complete expressions of site. The 2020 vintage is open and finely detailed, shaped by controlled fermentation and élevage in large cask with a measured use of French oak. Red cherry, wild strawberry and rose lead, with orange peel, spice and a light tea note following. The tannins are fine and persistent, giving the wine a clear line and length without heaviness. It is already accessible, though it will gain depth and detail with time in bottle.
