The Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese 2023 comes from the famous Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard in the middle Mosel. The site sits on steep, south-facing slopes of blue Devonian slate above the village of Wehlen.
The 2023 vintage allowed for selective harvesting of botrytised fruit at Auslese level, with fermentation carried out slowly at low temperatures.
White peach, apricot and citrus lead, with floral notes and a pronounced slate edge. Like all Prüm wines and most Auslese wines it will benefit from time in the cellar.
