Jean Tardy Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Argillas 2022

From the Aux Argillas premier cru in Nuits-Saint-Georges, this cuvée is drawn from a clay-rich site on the southern side of the appellation, where heavier soils tend to produce a more structured, firmly built expression of Pinot Noir. The Tardy family, led by Guillaume Tardy, works with hand harvesting, predominantly destemmed fruit, native yeast fermentation and élevage in French oak with a measured proportion of new barrels. In 2022, a warm and balanced vintage, the wine carries dark cherry and blackberry, with a pronounced earthy register and fine but assertive tannins, finishing long and composed, with the density and structure typical of this sector of Nuits-Saint-Georges.
