Sparkling WineHattingley Valley Rosé 2019
From Hampshire in southern England, Hattingley Valley produces this traditional method rosé from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grown on chalk soils. Colour and structure are built through a combination of short maceration and the addition of still Pinot Noir, followed by secondary fermentation in bottle and extended lees ageing before disgorgement. The 2019 shows strawberry, red cherry and raspberry with notes of citrus and a light brioche character. The mousse is fine and persistent, with bright acidity and a clean, precise finish.
