From vineyards around Cornaiano in Alto Adige, Cantina Girlan works with Lagrein planted on warm, gravelly alluvial soils that favour depth and colour. Fermented in stainless steel with a short period of élevage, the 2024 shows blackberry, dark cherry and plum with notes of cocoa and a light savoury edge. The tannins are present but well-shaped, carrying the wine through a clean, structured finish with enough freshness to keep it in balance.
