From the Pré Jourdan lieu-dit in Morgon, Domaine Daniel Bouland farms old-vine Gamay on decomposed granite with a meaningful clay component. Vinification is with whole bunches in a semi-carbonic approach, followed by élevage in older oak. The 2023 shows dark cherry and plum with violet, spice and a faint liquorice note. The palate is structured, with firm, well-shaped tannins, a broad mid-palate, and a persistent, mineral line through the finish.
