Benjamin Leroux Volnay 2023

From a range of parcels across Volnay, Benjamin Leroux sources Pinot Noir from limestone-dominant soils, with fruit selected for vine age and exposure. The vineyards are farmed sustainably, with careful sorting at harvest. Vinification is parcel-specific, with partial whole-bunch use depending on the year, indigenous fermentations, and gentle extraction. Élevage follows in French oak with a restrained proportion of new barrels. The 2023 shows red cherry, raspberry and rose with a light spice note and fine aromatic lift. The palate is precise, with fine, supple tannins and a persistent, mineral line through the finish.
