Red WineBenjamin Leroux Gevrey-Chambertin 2023
From a network of parcels across Gevrey-Chambertin, Benjamin Leroux sources Pinot Noir from clay-limestone sites selected for vine age and exposure, working under long-term grower contracts with a bias toward organic practice. Fruit is hand-harvested and sorted, with a measured proportion of whole bunch retained depending on parcel and vintage, followed by indigenous fermentation and low-extraction handling. Élevage is in French oak with a restrained share of new barrels. The 2023 shows red and dark cherry with rose, spice and a faint ferrous note. The palate is structured and composed, with fine, persistent tannins and a steady, mineral line through the finish.
