Bannockburn Shiraz 2023 comes from estate vineyards in Geelong, produced by Bannockburn Vineyards. The fruit is drawn from established plantings on volcanic and limestone-derived soils, giving a more restrained expression than warmer inland regions.
Fermentation is handled with measured extraction, with a portion of whole bunch contributing structure and lift. Élevage takes place in French oak, used to support the wine without overt influence.
The 2023 is medium bodied, with red and dark berry fruit, pepper and dried herbs. The palate is structured with fine tannins and a savoury line through the finish.
