Babo Chianti 2023

From Babo in Chianti, this Sangiovese is drawn from hillside vineyards on galestro and alberese soils, reflecting the zone’s classic mix of schist and limestone. Fruit is handled with a straightforward fermentation and élevage in stainless steel and large neutral vessels, keeping the wine centred on freshness and structure.

Red cherry, sour plum and violet lead, with dried herbs, orange peel and a light earthy note. The palate is direct, with firm acidity carrying red fruit. Tannins are fine and slightly grippy, giving shape without weight. The finish is dry and savoury, with a faint bitter edge typical of Sangiovese.
