Albino Rocca Barbaresco 2022

From Albino Rocca, this Barbaresco is assembled from estate holdings across Neive and Barbaresco, with fruit drawn primarily from sites such as Ronchi, Loreto and Montersino, where calcareous marl and varying exposures shape the blend. The family has shifted fully to organic farming, and vinification is carried out with controlled maceration followed by élevage in large Slavonian oak botti and a proportion of neutral French oak, balancing structure with clarity of fruit.

The wine opens with red cherry, blood orange and rose, with anise, dried herbs and a light balsamic note. The palate is defined by fine, persistent tannins and a clear acid line, carrying red fruit with precision. There is depth through the mid-palate from the multi-site blend, with savoury notes building alongside a firm mineral spine. The finish is long, dry and layered, with tar, spice and a sustained saline edge.
