Karthaeuserhof
White WineKarthäuserhof 'Karthäuserhofberg' GG 2020
The storied Karthäuserhof estate, steeped in fairy tale allure, gazes over the breathtaking Mosel valley. Recognized as the eighth oldest winegrowing estate in the world, it was officially established as a monastery in 1335. Originally named the “Farm of the Carthusians,” it was bestowed upon the monks of the Carthusian order by Prince-Elector Balduin of Luxembourg. Remarkably, since 1811, the Karthäuserhof has remained under the stewardship of seven generations of the same family.
The GG stands for Grosses Gewächs, the VDP's Grand Cru designation, here denoting a superior site for the cultivation of Riesling and the production of a dry wine meant to endure time in the cellar.
