Xiao Pu 'Tang' Huailai Viognier 2023

The Tang is 100% Viognier from Huailai in Hebei province, fermented with indigenous yeasts and rested on gross lees in neutral oak for three days before bottling. It is everything Viognier should be: aromatic and generous, with white peach, apricot blossom and a floral lift that carries through to a fresh, textural palate. Hedonistic, unadorned and honest.

Founded in 2017, ex-sommelier Ian Dai Hongjing, is a travelling negoçiant / 'nomad winery' that produces idiosyncratic cuvées experimenting with extended maceration, alternative varieties, and multi-vintage blending.

Directly translating to ‘Little Garden’, Xiao Pu wines are a product of nature, made with sustainable practices and respect for the land and its people. Ian Dai works with long-term partners who share the vision of sustainable agriculture and modern farming philosophies.
