Mac Forbes EB60 Soul Sister 2023

From his ever-curious Experimental Batch series, EB60 “Soul Sister” unites Riesling and Gewürztraminer from the Yarra Valley in 2023, a cool and finely balanced season. Fermented wild and aged briefly on lees, the wine reveals Riesling’s taut acidity and citrus lift alongside Gewürztraminer’s exotic floral aromas and eponymous spice. Jasmine, lime zest, and lychee weave together on a palate that is textural yet incisive, finishing with a clean mineral line. It is both aromatic and precise, a playful conversation between two distinctive grapes.
