Vignerons Schmolzer & Brown Thorley 2022

This wine is drawn from Tess and Jeremy comes from the Thorley vineyard in Beechworth, where cool nights, a higher elevation, and lean granitic soils shape a wine of great clarity. Wild‑yeast fermented in open vats with gentle whole‑berry handling, fermented partly in old French oak and aged on lees for around 12 months, it delivers lifted red berries, dried spice, forest floor, and a thread of crimson earth. The palate is lithe and refined yet layered—with cranberry, pomegranate, and underbrush notes wrapped in fine tannins and bright acidity. The finish is mineral‑cut and persistent—a poised, expressive Pinot that hits the line between delicacy and depth.
