Red WineLucien Aviet Ruzard Rosière Trousseau 2020
This cuvée emerges from the harmonious marriage of two distinct parcels, Rosière and Ruzard, both of which are also bottled separately. Nestled in the south-facing vineyards of Montigny-les-Arsures, these plots share a similar terroir—light, gravelly soil enriched with 'argile à chailles' (flinty clay), an ideal match for Trousseau's cultivation. Positioned higher up on the hill, Ruzard yields leaner wines in contrast to the deeper and age-worthy bottlings from Rosière. The vines, spanning from 10 to 60 years old, contribute to the complexity of this blend.
In recent bottlings, influenced by the effects of global warming, the wine has evolved to a richer and less angular profile than in the past. Displaying a delicate mid-red hue, it unfolds with refreshing red cherry and cranberry fruit, characterized by a genuine purity of expression and a mineral stamp that enhances its overall allure.
