Talenti Rosso di Montalcino 2023

From the rolling slopes of Tuscany, just south of Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino is one of Italy's most prestigious wines. Made from a local biotype of the Sangiovese grape, it undergoes extensive oak ageing. Rosso di Montalcino, often called 'baby Brunello,' is its younger, more accessible counterpart.

Talenti Rosso di Montalcino is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes sourced from vineyards on the southeast and southwest sides of Montalcino, at 250 to 400 metres above sea level. The southeast-facing soils are composed of sandy loam, with limestone plates and plenty of heavy stones. The wine ages for several months in French and Slavonian oak barrels.

The 2023 vintage shows concentrated fruit flavours of blueberry compote, fresh cherry and plum, with nuances of violets, sweet cocoa and marjoram, and plenty of soft, fine tannins.
