Pivnica Čajkov Grande Mure 2018

The Grande Mure is a field blend of Pesecká Leánka, Blaufrankisch and 20% unknown vines.

A field blend from a 60+ year-old vineyard saved from neglect in 2014, Múre reflects the essence of Pivnica Čajkov’s philosophy and terroir. Named after ancient fortifications ("múre" in Slovak), this plot lies on the northern edge of the region, bordering the nature-protected Štiavnické mountains. 

Abandoned in favour of more accessible sites, this vineyard—worked entirely by hand due to its steep terrain—stands as the last of its kind. Despite low yields, it embodies a profound connection to heritage, a labor of love inspired by the winemaker’s late grandmother. Only two barrels (600 bottles) were crafted in this vintage, capturing the spirit of this extraordinary place.
