Red WineOcchipinti Siccagno Nero d'Avola 2021
Siccagno is a Nero d'Avola wine derived from grapes that are concentrated on the vine. This wine encapsulates much about Sicily's history of viticulture, characterized by its wild yet fresh and elegant nature, and infused with the essence of red fruits. As a traditional grape that has unified Sicily from one end to the other, it captures the region's spirit across centuries.
The winemaking process involves fermentation using indigenous yeasts and a maceration period of 25 days with the skins. It is then aged for 22 months in 25HL Slavonian oak barrels and further refined for two months in the bottle without any filtration.
