Comando G 'Rozas' 2022

From the importer: Rozas 1er Cru Garnacha is made from three vineyards in Rozas de Puerto Real, just beneath the Las Umbrias vineyard at 900 metres.

In location and in style, the wine sits perfectly between Comando G’s incredibly light, delicate Las Umbrias and the village wine La Bruja.

The extra vine age, altitude and lighter granite soils that separate the plots of Rozas 1er from those of La Bruja result in a version of Garnacha that’s delicate and lifted, with a tighter structure.

Comando G is the joint project of Fernando Garcia, of Marañones, and Daniel Landi, of his eponymous label. Based in the town of Rozas del Puerto Real, high in the Sierra de Gredos, the Comando G team produce some of the most celebrated and sought-after wines in Spain.
