Szent Donát Slikker Olaszrizling 2023

The Szent Donát estate was founded in 1994 by the Kovács family. The family has been in Csopak and the Káli basin for over 200 years, and their love of grapes and their winemaking traditions have carried on through the generations. The winery and the estate was named after Szent Donát, the protector of the wine harvest and the patron saint of Csopak. The estate lies along the stunning northern slopes of Lake Balaton. They own some of the best parcels in Csopak, Tihany, and the Kál basin.

This single-vineyard Olaszrizling is grown in the red-soiled Slikker vineyard, located above the Roman Road and cultivated continuously since the 2nd century. Sourced from vines over 40 years old, this wine consistently delivers exceptional quality. Full-bodied and layered, it showcases notes of quince and chestnut, with a saline, mineral-driven finish. Produced using organic viticulture, the winemaking process includes short skin contact, gravity settling, and unfiltered bottling. This is a micro-batch wine, with an annual production limited to 2,000 bottles.
