Cascina Roccalini Barbaresco 2018

In 2004 Cascina Roccalini began under the guidance of the young yet seasoned winemaker, Paolo Veglio. He embarked on this venture with the expertise of Dante Scaglione, a long-time winemaker for Bruno Giacosa. Today, with a production limited to slightly more than 10,000 bottles annually, Paolo's approach remains rooted in tradition, yielding wines that are both artisanal and deeply personal.

Dating back to 1993, the grapes of the Roccalini cru were handed over to the esteemed producer, Bruno Giacosa, who believed them to be among the Barbaresco region's finest. The winery itself derives its name from this illustrious single Cru in Barbaresco. Embodying the essence of their native land, Roccalini wines emerge with authenticity, employing traditional techniques. They are a unique presence among the broader tapestry of Langhe wines, with their profiles tinged with notes of strawberries and violets, and enhanced by the zest of white pepper and the soothing touch of chamomile. Possessing a formidable structure, marked tannin richness, and savory undertones.
