Lichtenberger González Rot und Weiss 2018

Sourced from a historic vineyard nestled on the northern inclines of the Leithaberg Mountains, this wine boasts a diverse field blend of interplanted red and white grapes. While Blaufränkisch, Grüner Veltliner, and Zweigelt are notably present, some of the grape varieties remain unidentified. Adopting the hands-off approach of Martin and Adriana, the wine is hand-harvested and naturally fermented using indigenous yeasts. Their cellar practices are marked by patience, allowing the wine to reach its optimal point before release. This wine bridges the gap between a light-bodied red, with its hints of juicy berries, earthy undertones, and subtle tannins, and a white wine, celebrated for its lingering acidity and revitalizing nature. Best enjoyed when slightly chilled.
