White WinePeter Wetzer Furmint 2022
This Furmint comes from a small parcel in the Szent Márton vineyard of Somló, a site Peter farms organically and vinifies with the same quiet, hands-off approach seen across his range. The fruit is hand-harvested and fermented spontaneously in old Hungarian barrels, followed by a period on fine lees before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. The 2022 vintage shows the hallmarks of both grape and soil: firm acidity, a compact, dry palate, and flavours that lean toward quince, citrus skin, subtle smoke and a gentle herbal note. The structure is taut rather than expansive, with light phenolic grip and a long, clean finish.
