Occhipinti Il Frappato 2023

Originating from a solitary hectare of formerly neglected vines in Sicily, this wine is crafted entirely from Frappato grapes and undergoes maturation in Slavonian oak. Its bouquet encompasses notes of vibrant red berries, preserved fruit, raisins, and quince, leading to a finish highlighted by dried herbs and blood orange. 

A cult wine producer with an international following, Arianna Occhipinti has 18 hectares of organically farmed vines in Vittoria, largely devoted to the region's indigenous staple grapes of Frappato and Nero d'Avola. Working thoughtfully in the winery, she uses long macerations, neutral oak, and minimal sulphur to produce lively, expressive wines.
