From the volcanic hill of Somló in western Hungary, this 2024 white blend from Somlói Vándor reflects Tamás Kis's longstanding commitment to expressing the character of Somló through indigenous and historically established varieties. The estate works with small parcels across the hill's basalt-derived soils, where shallow topsoils, volcanic bedrock, and persistent winds contribute to wines of notable structure and mineral intensity. As suggested by its name, this cuvée is conceived as a broad portrait of Somló, bringing together Furmint, Olaszrizling, and Hárslevelű to capture a more complete expression of place. The 2024 vintage shows citrus, orchard fruit, white flowers, and subtle spice, supported by the saline, smoky mineral character, a signature of Somló.
